Kardashians can be real?!

So as I was scrolling through the channels the other day I happened upon a Keeping up with the Kardashians marathon on E exclamation point. Shocking right?! They almost never happen...But as I found myself getting sucked in something interesting happened. In this episode Kris went through Kylie's room and cleared out what she saw was "junk". Then Kourtney and Kim came into the picture telling their mom all about how awful Kylie is and their mom isn't doing her job. Oh my gosh, I cannot even tell you how much this parallels my life right now. As the youngest of five girls I know how absolutely obnoxious older sisters are. I am not even kidding when I say my ENTIRE life my sisters have complained to my mom about how she is so easy on me and lets me get away with everything and I am just so horrible in every way. I just gotta get this off my chest: SHUT UP! I totally felt for Kylie in this episode. Older sisters act like they never did anything wrong but have all these insights into why you are doing everything wrong. And for some reason the moms listen! At least mine and Kris Jenner do... My mom would totally go through my room and try to act on the advice from my sisters. I feel you Kylie and way to go Khloe for sticking up for your younger siblings and being the voice of reason! Who knew? Sometimes reality shows can depict reality!!

Make 'em laugh

So there have been a string of AT&T commercials where a grown man interviews children to show how uncomplicated their service is. His serious nature mixed with the kids' creative responses flows perfectly. It's pretty hilarious but as I thought about the commercials I realized I had no idea what the company was or what they were promoting. I laughed but I didn't think about anything else. So I have to wonder, does making a commercial amusing make it effective or not? But if not why do they keep producing them? Just food for thought....and now on to the good stuff! This one is my personal favorite right now.
And just because I can here is my favorite commercial of all commercials currently...I swear I am not a geek who YouTube's commercials all day but I do really like this one:) But again, I had no clue what car company this was for a long time. Enjoy!
"Was that me? Was I singing?"...gets me every time.

Chris Pine: Better with Age

So the other day two of my favorite people sat down for a nice talk. That's right Ellen Degeneres and Chris Pine. She was hilarious as usual and Chris Pine was...well Chris Pine. I mean how can you not melt at the sight of those piercing blue eyes and the sound of his sultry voice? To make things interesting though Ellen brings up his old high school photo...needless to say even celebrities can not escape the awkwardness that is high school. It was hilarious and adorable all at the same time and well, just take a look for yourself.
Ugh so cute!!! To top it off he even appeared on Jimmy Kimmel where he sang and melted the heart of every man, woman, and child that night. Well I guess now I have to post that video too...

You're welcome:) Now if only the men here at BYU were as charming, talented, and insanely attractive...

Mindy, Mindy, Mindy...

Post number one! Okay, so this week in class we were asked to really think about why we liked watching the shows we watched. One of my favorites is the Mindy Project. So as I sat down on the usual Tuesday night at 8:30 I asked, why do I love this show so much? Answer one: it's hilarious! All the characters play off of each other so well, the jokes are original and how can you not love all the witty banter. Answer two: Could Danny get any cuter?! At first I was unsure of the possible romance they were building up to with him and Mindy but now I don't know... he is so sweet with her I might actually be on board (but don't worry it will be dragged out for a few more seasons so you have time to adjust). In fact all of Mindy's relationships are great, how does she find all these funny, smart, attractive guys?! Sure Josh turned out to be a jerk but the others are adorable and totally infatuated with her. How does she do it? Share your secrets with us Mindy, help a sister out :) Answer three: All the guest stars. She has the best cast and comedic guest stars, she even brought Josh from Drake and Josh in to play Ray-Ron and it was hilarious. But this all leads up to answer four the biggest of them all: I love Mindy! Everything about her. She is successful, curvy, funny, and totally unafraid to put herself out there and be exactly who she is and even make fun of herself for it from time to time. She is confident and owns it. I don't know what it is but it draws me in and makes me want to be like her. I keep imagining that someday I will have cute clothes and even cuter guys asking me out and I will live in this nice apartment with a successful job and be surrounded by awesome friends that I love. Too often I feel like women in shows are petite and have some stereotype we all have to live up to. This one gets the guys because she loves art and is cultured and smart while this one loves sports and is one of the guys. Mindy is a regular girl which I think why I love her so much. She says it like it is and doesn't put on an act and guess what? People love her. She speaks the truth of what most of us are really thinking. She makes me feel like I can be totally comfortable being me. She brings variety to women on t.v. which I honestly think we need more of. So with that I leave you with a Mindy quote:

Now go watch this show!
