AHHH! Love it! I'm way too invested in these characters...and here is one for fun of their witty banter and love/hate relationship. It's not their best moments but still pretty funny:

AAANNNDD the Mindy Project is Back!!!!!
Mindy is back and I couldn't be happier! In February they left us on a cliffhanger where Danny and Mindy kiss and I cannot wait to see where it goes because they are so cute and who doesn't love Danny Castellano?! Anyway I am stoked but have to wait until tomorrow night even though it has already aired...stupid hulu. But in case you don't watch it, and I don't know why you wouldn't, here is the kiss because it was a good kiss! (Is that weird to say?...)

Jessica Simpson, good point!
So I am not a huge Jessica Simpson fan and I'm not into the whole weight watchers or dieting thing but I saw one of her weight watchers ads and I loved the message. This is the one:
I love how she describe her body, that it created her kids and how she loves it for what it can do(so skip the last part about losing weight). I think that is such a great message that I forget sometimes. I get so caught up in needing to look perfect and skinny and all those things we discussed when talking about body image and media. But sometimes I forget that my body is an amazing gift from God. Our bodies are capable of so much and I find myself taking it for granted at times. I mean just take an anatomy class and it will blow your mind what your body can do! I think this is such a great reminder to really appreciate our bodies and take care of them. I don't want to forget what a blessing my body is. I want to treat it well so it can take me wherever I need and want to go in life. I just love seeing such a positive message for women about their bodies in the media. I want to be healthy for me so my body can do it's job and I am happy, not so I can look beautiful by someone else's standards. I love that this message is becoming more popular in society, especially the Dove campaign for Real Beauty! Seriously though you should check that one out too, powerful messages in there.

KEVIN the cashier...played by Adam!
Okay so this is one of my favorite Ellen bits!...plus I went on a date with a guy named Kevin a while ago so when I was telling my friend about it every time I said his name she sang the theme song. So naturally it has been on my mind and I want to share it with you....you will never think of the name Kevin the same way again. Here are some of my favorites:
I love it when he starts to read the bedtime story:) Go look up some more because there are tons and he is hilarious!!!
Once upon a time is back!!!
So I am obsessed with this show, if you have not seen it you are missing out on life. That is not a joke. It is from the creators of Lost but I hated that show and it's stupid ending so don't let that deter you. It follows Emma the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming who are stuck here in Storybrook. It is all about their adventures and you meet all the storybook characters and they throw a million twists and turns and I love it. Every episode ends with me screaming "what just happened?!" and talking for 45 minutes with my roommate about the implications of this new plot twist. It's so good so put it on your Netflix queue and catch up! Here is this first trailer to get you hooked:

Pentatonix guys in a Frozen parody...yes please!
So I am Frozen obsessed this week! It's a sickness really...but it came out on DVD this week so in honor of that I would like to share this hilarious parody from Super Fruit. They are two of the guys from Pentatonix and they put out funny YouTube videos every week and my best friend loves them and makes me watch them with her all the time! Just watch it you'll laugh:
I love goofy stuff like this where it's just pure fun...Anyway I hope you got a kick out of that and go buy Frozen!!!

Ben and Jerry's in African Chant
So I watched that song of the Africanized (it's a word) rendition of Let it go and it makes me think of this Jimmy Fallon video every time. They made an African song about Ben and Jerry's and I find it super funny..

Parents singing Frozen...
So I know I have already posted about a spoof on Frozen but I saw this on Facebook and had to share it....This poor girl will never live this down:
I truly hope this is my future husband and I (with or without a kid)...except I may or may not be belting it out rather than lip syncing lol:)

Missrepresentation and Colbert
Okay so after watching the video this week my friend asks me if I have seen the Colbert Report episode where Bill O' Reilly talks about the downside to there being a woman president. I was like this is EXACTLY what we talked about in class! In case you haven't seen it here is the link: http://www.hulu.com/watch/604921#i1,p5,d1 Needless to say I was just shocked and disgusted. I am not an extreme feminist but this was just like "are you kidding me Bill?!" The documentary this week really opened my eyes to how we see women in the media and I was so offended. When I saw this clip it just reinforced how prevalent this issue really is.

Marcel the Shell and Mona Lisa Saperstein
So someone else this week posted about Parks and Recreation and I just had to share two of the best characters of the whole show. Seriously though they need to put these two in like every episode! It's Jean-Ralphio and Mona Lisa Saperstein. Do you guys remember the girl who voiced Marcel the Shell? Well she plays Mona Lisa and does so flawlessly. I cannot even tell you how much material goes down in like 10 seconds of dialogue with these two...So freakin' hilarious! You'll see:
I can no longer say something is "the worst" without breaking out this song...
Oh Scotty...
So I am a total country music girl. I'm from the Midwest so it is just a part of my soul. Anytime I hear a country song I am instantly happier....and of course it gives me personal identity and all those other things we were just tested on during our midterm....(see I learned stuff!). But that's not what I wanted to talk about today. I have this habit where I hear a new song and it becomes my favorite so I listen to it on repeat like a thousand times nonstop until I hear my next new favorite. So currently I am in love with Scotty McCreery's new song See you Tonight. It's so good so I decided to share it with all of you:) OH...and he started on American Idol, a competitive reality show which we talked about yesterday. Look at how much I am learning and applying media in this blog....Anyway on to the good stuff:
And Jimmy Fallon takes the stage!
So apparently this did not post when I hit the button last week so this was supposed to be last week's entry but anyway, oh well, here it is:
So Jimmy Fallon took over the Tonight show this week: YAY!!! I love him! I think he is hilarious and awesome. So to start it off right he had all sorts of guest stars like Will Smith, Michelle Obama, and the one and only J.T.(Justin Timberlake for those who don't know). These guys have the best bromance and they are super funny and attractive, all bonuses:) But all the stars came out for his $100 bet....I know it is kind of long but here is his little welcoming skit to the show. P.S. hold out because the ending is by far the best part!!!!

Frozen: As sung by Christina, Julie, Barbara, etc...
So I am just as obsessed with Frozen as almost every other person out there right now but I saw this and had to share. She sings Let it Go in all different voices and is actually crazy talented...and hilarious! Follow the link to buzzfeed (where hours of my day seem to disappear) and see what I'm talking about...

Psych: You will be missed...
So this is a sad blog entry. Networks have recently announced shows that have been canceled and renewed and after 8 hilarious and brilliant seasons, USA's Psych will air its finale in March. I cannot even tell you how sad and mad this makes me. It was the funniest show ever and I do not want this to be the end. The writers were so clever and it was perfectly cast, I don't even know what to do now that it is ending. Psych is one of those shows where I never miss an episode because it is just that good! So in honor of one of the greatest bromances (possibly better than Cory and Shawn) I leave you with some hilarious scenes from the show. To Shawn and Gus, please don't be the end:

Okay so I may have gone a little overboard but it's just so funny! I could literally fill 20 pages with this stuff...I just love it so insanely much. It is just the best and should be on for forever...

To be Social or not to be Social....?
So I'm pretty sure Kindle is the worst thing ever invented for a girl like me. It's a Saturday night and I am single I should be out being social, meeting new people, etc, etc...but what am I doing instead? Thinking, well I could go out and be with people...OR I could buy a new book on Kindle!:) See whereas before I would have to actually order and wait for the book to come now it is instantly in my hands and I can start reading, like tonight! Yeah...I'm probably never gonna get married, but hey boys are better in books anyway right?!...
Instagram!
Okay I know I am so lame and should have joined forever ago but I finally took the plunge and joined Instagram last night:) AND I already love it. The thing I hate about Facebook is having to go through all the stupid statuses, linked articles, invites, etc. by people I don't really care about, but this is just pictures and a little caption plus it's only the people I want to follow! It's official I am obsessed...

Super Bowl Post...of course.
So it seems the Super Bowl is upon us once again. As someone who does not really follow football, I usually resort to eavesdropping and stealing others' thoughts and predictions and repeating them in conversations so it looks like I know what I am talking about. Don't get me wrong, I find football somewhat entertaining and can appreciate a really good play but I do not know stats, names, and other football-ey type things. Just the basics. I'm usually the one annoying all the guys around by commenting on the either awesome or stupid choice of color for a certain teams uniform and how player 61 fills out those pants very nicely...So while we are all preparing our Super Bowl themed snacks and warming up our voices to belt it out with Bruno I invite you to take a look back at one of the best Super Bowl pranks from Jimmy Kimmel. Nothing brings families together quite like turning off the t.v....
So great! Alright now go enjoy the game. May the referees always be fair, the food taste delicious, and the commercials be funny!

Kardashians can be real?!
So as I was scrolling through the channels the other day I happened upon a Keeping up with the Kardashians marathon on E exclamation point. Shocking right?! They almost never happen...But as I found myself getting sucked in something interesting happened. In this episode Kris went through Kylie's room and cleared out what she saw was "junk". Then Kourtney and Kim came into the picture telling their mom all about how awful Kylie is and their mom isn't doing her job. Oh my gosh, I cannot even tell you how much this parallels my life right now. As the youngest of five girls I know how absolutely obnoxious older sisters are. I am not even kidding when I say my ENTIRE life my sisters have complained to my mom about how she is so easy on me and lets me get away with everything and I am just so horrible in every way. I just gotta get this off my chest: SHUT UP! I totally felt for Kylie in this episode. Older sisters act like they never did anything wrong but have all these insights into why you are doing everything wrong. And for some reason the moms listen! At least mine and Kris Jenner do... My mom would totally go through my room and try to act on the advice from my sisters. I feel you Kylie and way to go Khloe for sticking up for your younger siblings and being the voice of reason! Who knew? Sometimes reality shows can depict reality!!

Typical Saturday Night
So I'm sitting here making cookies with the bestie and getting ready to watch a movie...we are listening to music and browsing Netflix and its crazy thinking how much I use media for entertainment...like what did people do before? Lol jk we all know they just sat around and stared at each other until the snarfblat.

Make 'em laugh
So there have been a string of AT&T commercials where a grown man interviews children to show how uncomplicated their service is. His serious nature mixed with the kids' creative responses flows perfectly. It's pretty hilarious but as I thought about the commercials I realized I had no idea what the company was or what they were promoting. I laughed but I didn't think about anything else. So I have to wonder, does making a commercial amusing make it effective or not? But if not why do they keep producing them? Just food for thought....and now on to the good stuff! This one is my personal favorite right now.
And just because I can here is my favorite commercial of all commercials currently...I swear I am not a geek who YouTube's commercials all day but I do really like this one:) But again, I had no clue what car company this was for a long time. Enjoy!
"Was that me? Was I singing?"...gets me every time.

Chris Pine: Better with Age
So the other day two of my favorite people sat down for a nice talk. That's right Ellen Degeneres and Chris Pine. She was hilarious as usual and Chris Pine was...well Chris Pine. I mean how can you not melt at the sight of those piercing blue eyes and the sound of his sultry voice? To make things interesting though Ellen brings up his old high school photo...needless to say even celebrities can not escape the awkwardness that is high school. It was hilarious and adorable all at the same time and well, just take a look for yourself.
Ugh so cute!!! To top it off he even appeared on Jimmy Kimmel where he sang and melted the heart of every man, woman, and child that night. Well I guess now I have to post that video too...
You're welcome:) Now if only the men here at BYU were as charming, talented, and insanely attractive...

Mindy, Mindy, Mindy...
Post number one! Okay, so this week in class we were asked to really think about why we liked watching the shows we watched. One of my favorites is the Mindy Project. So as I sat down on the usual Tuesday night at 8:30 I asked, why do I love this show so much? Answer one: it's hilarious! All the characters play off of each other so well, the jokes are original and how can you not love all the witty banter. Answer two: Could Danny get any cuter?! At first I was unsure of the possible romance they were building up to with him and Mindy but now I don't know... he is so sweet with her I might actually be on board (but don't worry it will be dragged out for a few more seasons so you have time to adjust). In fact all of Mindy's relationships are great, how does she find all these funny, smart, attractive guys?! Sure Josh turned out to be a jerk but the others are adorable and totally infatuated with her. How does she do it? Share your secrets with us Mindy, help a sister out :) Answer three: All the guest stars. She has the best cast and comedic guest stars, she even brought Josh from Drake and Josh in to play Ray-Ron and it was hilarious. But this all leads up to answer four the biggest of them all: I love Mindy! Everything about her. She is successful, curvy, funny, and totally unafraid to put herself out there and be exactly who she is and even make fun of herself for it from time to time. She is confident and owns it. I don't know what it is but it draws me in and makes me want to be like her. I keep imagining that someday I will have cute clothes and even cuter guys asking me out and I will live in this nice apartment with a successful job and be surrounded by awesome friends that I love. Too often I feel like women in shows are petite and have some stereotype we all have to live up to. This one gets the guys because she loves art and is cultured and smart while this one loves sports and is one of the guys. Mindy is a regular girl which I think why I love her so much. She says it like it is and doesn't put on an act and guess what? People love her. She speaks the truth of what most of us are really thinking. She makes me feel like I can be totally comfortable being me. She brings variety to women on t.v. which I honestly think we need more of. So with that I leave you with a Mindy quote:

Now go watch this show!
